The Old School building was originally built in 1857; it burnt down in 1979 and was then replaced by the modern National School.
The Old School committee renovated the building and re-opened it as a Heritage Centre in August 2009.
The Exhibition hosts a wealth of information on the story and history of Bere Island.
Sit and relax with a cup of coffee and take in the breathtaking views of Bantry Bay, whilst browsing through the vast selection of local history on offer.
We have a range of traditional crafts for sale, made on Bere Island.
We also host team building events, meetings, educational programmes, plays, lectures, courses, retreats, exhibitions, and many more corporate events.
